Ah, yes. I escaped all that by not being aware enough to be worth teasing. Actually, I was in my 30's before I encountered any of it. Blonde jokes became popular at some point in the 80's and I am a blonde. Strangely enough, the people I worked with avoided telling them in my presence until I accidentally disclosed how funny I thought they were. And the flood-gates opened. We had just gotten interoffice email and my inbox overflowed with blonde jokes. I don't think I was being teased as much as I was being included in the office humor. I saved them all. Got to be quite a collection over time.
David, you are too funny! As an only child, I didn’t have the same group teasing me as you did. But as with the female stereotype of the 50’s, I did have an easy bake oven( the cakes were actually good-go figure). I also got an old Royal typewriter so I could later pretend to be a stenographer for a judge ( my dad was an attorney) . Thanks for pulling me back to my childhood, although it was less traumatic for me than for you. Keep on baking!
Fantastic jaunt down memory lane. My brothers got the Creepy Crawlers, and Incredible Edibles-how I was jealous! Oh, how our culture has shaped us!! Though I never did like those green army men! (Haha)
I would have loved to be your friend at nine!
😂🤣😝
Enjoy your Viking Beast!
Thx!
